Appointments & contact

Beginning care
with Dr. Wolf.

The first appointment is an opportunity for us to begin understanding your concerns and what you hope to gain from treatment.

What to expect at your first appointment

We discuss the reasons for your consultation, your developmental history, and any previous treatment, including medication and psychotherapy. We also review your medical and family history, along with other aspects of your life relevant to your care.

When available, I review relevant records and prior testing. With your permission, I may also speak with previous providers or other people you feel would contribute to my understanding of your needs.

For children and adolescents, this may include communication with teachers or other school staff, family members, and previous care providers to better understand the child’s development and experiences at home, at school, and in other settings.

Session length & initial evaluation

A single session lasts 45–50 minutes. The initial evaluation may be scheduled as a single or double session. We may also begin with one session and arrange additional sessions as needed to complete the intake, depending on the complexity of your concerns and history.

Taking the time to develop a thorough understanding helps guide a careful diagnostic assessment and an individualized treatment plan.

In person & telemedicine

Appointments are available in person, through telemedicine, or through a combination of both. During our first meeting, we discuss the arrangement best suited to your needs. Please contact the office to discuss whether telemedicine is appropriate and available for your circumstances and location.

Payment & insurance

My practice is self-pay, and I do not accept insurance. I provide superbills that you may submit to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Reimbursement depends on your individual plan and is not guaranteed.
